How do I add HBS users to a SharePoint site?

In HUIT's O365 tenant we have set up "stub" accounts in Office 365 so that HBS email and contact information is visible in our Global Adress list. In addition, HBS has their own separate Office365 tenant. Because of these factors, there is some nuance in order fore HBS users to use a SharePoint site.

What happens to items I delete from SharePoint?

List items as well as documents, pages and entire sites go to the SharePoint recycle bin after deletion.  The user who originally deleted an item can restore them from their recycle bin for 93 days after the original deletion.

Please note the SharePoint recycle bin is not related to the Windows recycle bin.

I've never used this username for anything before. How do I set the password?

If you work for HUIT, Central Administration or FAS your SharePoint user name and password is the same as your email address and email password.

If you were given a SharePoint user name that looks like abc123@harvard.edu and don't know the password you can set it by claiming your HarvardKey credential here.
