Can I store my .pst files in OneDrive for Business?

If you would like to store an archived .pst file that is fewer than 10GB, then yes you can store the file in OneDrive for Business.  But, if your are actively using your .pst file as part of your normal use of Outlook, it is not supported on OneDrive for Business.  For more information about archiving .pst files, please call 5-7777 or email ithelp@harvard.edu

Why is the O365 login page different?/Why can't I login?

On Friday, August 5, HUIT successfully performed a major upgrade to the Office 365 authentication engine. This upgrade changed the look of the login pages, improved security and added several important product features.  You will notice a different login page when you sign into Office 365.

If you cannot log into Office 365 please clear your browser's cache.
Make sure you have deleted cookies and other site and plugin data when clearing cache.

How do I move my personal or departmental files to OneDrive or SharePoint?

If you're looking to migrate personal or departmental data/files from your computer, DropBox, Google Drive, Network Share/s to your OneDrive, SharePoint Site or Group there are 3 basic ways to move your data:

  1. Drag and drop to OneDrive in your browser
  2. Open in explorer view (Windows only) and drag and drop into your OneDrive folder
  3. OneDrive Sync

What happens to my data in Office 365 when I leave the University?

When you leave Harvard your Office 365 data is immediately deleted.  This includes your email, calendar, contacts and OneDrive files (including documents you've shared).  Documents stored in a Team Site (SharePoint) or Office365 Group will not be deleted.  Prior to your departure from the University you should coordinate with your manager and provide copies of any and all business critical documents stored in your OneDrive or email.  Your account is recoverable for a period no greater than 30 days from the date your affiliation with the University ends.

Can I use the 'Harvard University' Wireless network when accessing Office 365 email, calendar and other applications?

We do not recommend using the 'Harvard University' wireless network when accessing Office 365 email, calendar and other applications. Please make sure that you are using the 'Harvard Secure' wireless network. Outlook and other Office 365 applications  may not work properly on the unsecured 'Harvard University' wireless network.
