We do not recommend using the 'Harvard University' wireless network when accessing Office 365 email, calendar and other applications. Please make sure that you are using the 'Harvard Secure' wireless network. Outlook and other Office 365 applications may not work properly on the unsecured 'Harvard University' wireless network.
HUIT does not recommend using IMAP or POP to connect to your Office 365 Outlook mailbox. Email clients that are configured via IMAP will experience a variety of limitations, security and performance issues. These issues include:
Loss messages due to data throttling which occurs when you are attempting to move mail. Throttling is controlled by Microsoft and cannot be changed, adjusted, or removed
Most system message flags and all custom flags are not supported. Only the "Read/unread" and "Important" flags are available.
The easiest way to access your Harvard email and calendar is by using the Outlook for the web. There are new great options, including working offline and accessing Office web applications from you browser. To configure, use the gear in the upper right corner and edit your settings.
If you need/want the full Outlook client, you will need to obtain a valid license. After installing, then you simply need to supply...
While your existing URL for Outlook on the web will still work, we recommend updating your bookmarks to mso.harvard.edu. From there you can launch the Outlook Web App directly from the homepage by clicking the Office 365 Email & Calendar link in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
Only your username changed; you no longer log on using fas_domain\johnqpublic or university\jqp123. Use your primary email address as your username with the same password you were using for your email before or your HarvardKey.
