Redirecting Your Email


Use these instructions to redirect everything from your Office 365 Email & Calendar account to another mailbox. If you wish to forward your email from your Office 365 Email & Calendar account to another mailbox but also store a copy there, use the Forward and Store instructions instead.

Only use the redirection method if you do not plan to use your Office 365 Email & Calendar account; redirection will cause all message and calendar items to completely bypass your Office 365 Outlook mailbox.


 

  1. Log on to your mailbox via the Office 365 Outlook Web App (OWA). Be sure to use your primary email address as your username.
  2. Click the gear icon beside your name at the top-right and click Options.
  3. Choose organize email from the menu on the left, then click the dropdown arrow beside the "+" sign. Select Create a new rule for arriving messages... 
  4. Choose [Apply to all messages] from the When the message arrives, and: dropdown box. 
  5. Choose Redirect the message to... from the Do the following: dropdown box. 
  6. To redirect your email to someone in your Contacts or the GAL, type the name in the To box at the top of the window and click Search Contacts & Directory. Otherwise, type the full email address. Click OK
  7. Review all of the information carefully. Your email will no longer be delivered to your Office 365 Outlook mailbox once you complete this setup; it is very important that you verify you have chosen the correct Contact or typed the email address correctly before clicking Save. Click Yes on the warning message about forwarding all future messages.

 


 

 

 

Forward and Store Your Email

If you wish to forward your email from Office 365 Email & Calendar to another email account but also keep a message in your mailbox:
 

  1. Log on to your mailbox via the Office 365 Outlook Web App (OWA). Be sure you use your primary email address as your username.
  2. Click the gear icon beside your name at the top-right and click Options. 
  3. Choose account from the menu on the left, then click connected accounts from the menu at the top of the window. 
  4. Type the full email address of the destination account in the Forward my email to: box. 
  5. If you do not wish to keep a copy of your messages in your Exchange mailbox, uncheck the box.
  6. Click start forwarding.
